X-RAY
A general x-ray is an image of the inside of the body and it is produced by small rays of ionising radiation passing through your body and hitting a detector.
X-rays are generally useful for assessing bones including soft tissue, lungs and abdomen.

Yes, all medical imaging examinations require a referral from a doctor or referring specialist.

Yes, Albany Imaging accepts all referral forms from other radiology practices.

It is recommended to wear a comfortable two-piece outfit that easy to take off and put on again because you may be asked to remove some of your clothing and change into a gown prior to the examination.
Some jewellery can obscure some images, so you may be asked to remove these items so it's best to leave valuables at home or with a friend/family member that might be waiting for you.

Albany Imaging strives to bulk-bill our patients wherever possible.
However due to Medicare criteria and some restrictions on referrers there can be an applicable fee.
The fee will be discussed with you at the time of booking.
