COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (CT)
WHAT IS A CT SCAN?
Computed Tomography (CT) uses x-rays to create cross sectional images of your body. The x-ray beam is rotated around the body, the resultant information is captured on detectors and processed by a computer to give images in ‘slices.’ To clearly image some structures, iodinated contrast is sometimes used.
